– The FINIS Positive Drive Fins (PDF’s) use a unique ellipsoidal blade to generate correct propulsion in all swim strokes. The asymmetrical shape and adjustable heel straps allow the swimmer to safely build power in all four competitive strokes. The short and wide blade design also promotes a natural inward supination kick style for butterfly, backstroke and freestyle.

– The FINIS Positive Drive Fins (PDF’s) use an ergonomic foot pocket to comfortably place feet in an ideal swimming position. The heel strap secures the fin, allowing the feet to flex more naturally. A closed-toe construction provides superior energy transfer from leg to foot. The PDF’s will increase leg strength, foot speed and ankle flexibility for all four competitive swim strokes, making the fins great for training the individual medley event. Available in multiple sizes for a custom fit.

PDF must stand for Pretty Dope Fins

PDF must stand for Pretty Dope Fins, am I right or am I right?? Not only did I swim super fast and correctly while wearing these suckers, but my self-confidence was also at an all time high because of how cool they made me look. Thanks FINIS!

I didn’t know which fins to buy for my swim training but when I saw these and put them on, it was magical. After using them and then taking them off again, they make you feel as if your feet were fins too though very light and comfortable. They increase the resistance but that is done on purpose so that you force yourself to go faster with them on and being able to maintain that force and speed when taking them off. Excellent material. Love it so much!

    Knee injury recovery

Highly recommend. Long time swimmer. Bought these fins to help recover from partially torn leg muscle. The fins helped with buoyancy and allowed me to slowly increase the use of my legs while swimming. Now fully recovered I still use these fins throughout my entire multi-stroke swim. Best and most comfortable fins made!

These are the best swim fins I’ve ever used. They provide just enough propulsion, do not put pressure on delicate knees, and they force your body into an anatomically correct swim position. Great for training aids and I have been known at times to use them in longer open water swims to help keep pressure off sore shoulders. I wear a women’s 11.5W shoe and the XXL is perfect with plenty of room in the elastic back to stretch out. My only complaint is the back is very hard to adjust and if one of the rubber ties becomes undone, it can be a little annoying until you can fix it. But I love these so much I have two pairs — one to keep with me at home and one at my parents house so I don’t have to take them on a plane.

I have been using the PDF since the early years and I must confess I have never used a more comfortable and effective swim aid. Swimming is my sport passion. I always return to it. Swimming is the one form of exercise that I can come back to again and again, through fads, trends, and changinig times. I enjoy cross training and participating in many types of land sports. In doing so, sometimes I sustain an injury, and I return to the pool for healing and rejuvenation. If I’ve been a few months away, which can be the case through the holidays, come early spring I return to the water, my old friend. At this time, the PDF’s help me back into a good hydrodynamic rhythm and glide, letting my shoulders ease into the load very gradually over the first few weeks. This is vital for me at 57. Once my training starts to pick up and I am gaining strength and form, the PDF’s continue to tune my stroke, lengthen my reach, and extend my hydrodynamics. I use the PDF’s for all strokes, free, back, breast, and fly. Especially for the fly! The PDF’s honestly get me back to a swimmig form faster than any other swim aid I have used. For me, they are the single best fitness tool I can bring when I travel, even more important than my running shoes. If I had to choose between my goggles and my PDF’s, well, there is no question. And they are so compact too! Oh, and the absolute best for open water, especially when there is a light to moderate chop, which there always seems to be:. As a former competitive swimmer and now a seasonal lifefitness swimmer, PDF’s so comfortably enhance my technique, enable my tempo and fitness level, and increase the safety level of my openwater swimming. I use Positive Drive Fins for kick sets in over half of my workouts. My masters colleagues and I love them for their use on ALL strokes. They improve ankle flexibility and drive while working the legs, without providing too much extra propulsion. I have recommended the Jr. sizes for my young agegroupers to help with the breaststroke kick. Ease of fit and comfort are superior to other conventional fins. They are a core training accessory.

I love these fins. I feel I get great feedback from them when doing flutter or fly kick. Because my foot sits into a loose pocket I’m able to feel the upbeat and downbeat of the kick more clearly. This encourages better technique. And the stroke they’re really designed for, breaststroke. Well it took awhile getting comfortable using fins for this but now I lo ve how the blade on the outside of the foot encourages me to catch and hold the water through my kick

I cannot say how much I love these fins! They are hard to get on at first, do put them on in the water, but they are worth it.

After breaking my ankle and arthritis setting in I had to take up swimming seriously as the only exercise I can do aerobically. (I watch YouTube tutorials for proper technique for more efficient swimming. ) I could never get the proper propulsion to exercise my legs. These fins not only help the foot to propel properly they give added weight, as I guess any fin would, to help exercise the legs. The compact size, comparatively speaking, and in the zipper bag, makes them easier to carry to the pool too. (I did not use these until about 18 months after the ankle break; I would not advise for that therapy.)

I ordered by my shoe size, being a US women’s 9 1/2B I ordered the size down as instructed. They are tight but not too long; if I’d gotten bigger they might have been too long to be effective but will not fit a wide or puffy foot. As it is, they function perfectly. After the first use they are much easier to put on and the stretchy straps help there (I tap the ‘toe’ against the pool wall to push them on) though still struggle to remove—they have an odd suction effect like a snorkeling mask, kind of funny actually. But I love them, use them for about 40 minutes of my hour swim (for breast, back, and side strokes after a 20 minute crawl without them.) I keep them on for added resistance during the post swim stretch too doing ankle, leg, and hip circles. Highly recommend for new swimmers.
