– The FINIS Alignment Kickboard uses a hydrodynamic design to improve body position. The stabilizing hand strap allows complete control of the board without gripping, creating a perfect alignment from the fingertips to the toes. When used properly, the FINIS Alignment Kickboard sits just below the waterline so swimmers can lengthen their body without kicking at an incline. Shorter in design, the Alignment Kickboard FINIS puts less pressure on shoulders as compared to standard kickboards. A great training tool, the board can be used to do one arm and side kicking drills in addition to normal kicking. When paired with a snorkel, the Alignment Kickboard encourages proper head alignment and improves overall technique.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Grip the front of the board with your arms fully extended in front of the body while kicking

Keep out of direct UV sunlight to increase the lifetime of the kickboard. After use rinse in fresh water, wipe dry and clean any debris with a soft cloth. Store in a cool, dry environment. Keep away from sharp object.

A+ for an innovative, purposeful piece of equipment
It’s exciting to see how far innovation has taken the basic kickboard, as is the case with the FINIS Alignment Kickboard. After playing around with the Alignment board over several practices, this has become the functional piece of gear I never knew I needed. The board is in an arrow or triangle-type shape, made of lightweight foam and fashioned with a durable rubber strap across its width. It’s easy to slip one or both hands under the strap to maintain a tight streamlined position while kicking any stroke on your stomach or back. Or, you can also use just one hand in the strap to maintain body position while kicking on your side. It’s perfect for pairing with a snorkel in order to be fully stretched out and focus on your body line while kicking.
The size and density of the Alignment kickboard reduced any strain on my shoulders and allowed me to press into it, lengthening my body line and not feel as though I was kicking uphill, as is the case with traditional kickboards. I was able to release one hand easily and stroke into the wall with the board under control in order to complete a flip turn and seamlessly move on to my next kicking lap.
From a traveling/storage perspective, the size and lightweight foam makes the board easy to slip into my bag and carry to the pool, while the strap could also be slid through a carabiner or velcro strap some swim backpacks offer on the outside. Additionally, if more than one of your teammates has this piece, the bright yellow is easy to mark with a swimmer’s name for identification.
At a very reasonable price point, this is a valuable tool with big benefits without a big price tag.

As a coach, this is my go to training tool for new swimmers. This kickboard is light enough to promote good body position and keep hips up on top of the water. It works great with one arm freestyle drills and teaching freestyle breathing.

I have worked with other types of kickboards with each serving a purpose or reason. Is seeing other streamline boards, I always so an easy option for swimmers to cheat themselves. With the alignment kickboard, I have noticed less cheating and tighter streamlines. The strap really helps center swimmers and kick in the tightest of streamlines. I love using myself in training. I even followed the advice of a Finis representative and used two streamline boards while dolphin kicking. Not only did I feel that I was getting a great kick, I felt a stretch in my shoulders during my press that helped in my stroke. I truly believe this is a great board and an excellent value.

We incoportated this kickboard in our training gear a few years ago and love the challenge it provides for our older swimmers on kick sets, yet it doesn’t impinge the shoulders like regular kickboards.

– A great trainer
I recently got back into swimming and lack the stamina to perform a lot of laps in order to get my workout. This thing is a great way to get back into swimming shape while being easy to use. It’s very comfortable to hold (which I was worried about) and very light weight but doesn’t feel flimsy. It alap doesn’t offer too much resistance in the water so I can reposition it easily which is great for flip turns. It so good that my husband borrows it and now I’m tempted to get another.
